Q:1. Due to the high cost of Fly Ash We compelled to use ground (crushed) Sand:
a. Can we replace 100% fly ash by Sand
A: 100% yes
Q:b. Do we have to use separate ball mill for sand grinding (instead of Lime grinding ball mill) – What are the specification for sand grinding ball mill & cost?
A: Yes,two separate ball mills are necessary for sand grinding and lime griding .
Φ900x3000 for lime and Φ1200x4500 for sand.
Q:c. What are the rated output capacity of ball mill for lime and sand grinding?

Q:2. For conversion of CaCO3 (Limestone) to CaO (Lime) if we are using incinerator / Kiln
a. What is the efficiency of conversion process?
A:Generally speaking,1Mt CaCO3 can make 400kg-600kg CaO.
Q:b. What is the rate of fuel consumption (Coal) by Kiln (for 1Mt of Lime)
A:For 1 Mt lime we need 180kg-200kg coal as heating source ,the coal consumption also depends on the heating value, normally the coal heating value should be no lower than 4500 kcal.
My question:If you are willing to set up this plant with capacity 100m3/day and not intend to expand the capacity in short time,it’s better and cost-efficient to buy the finished quicklime product rather than setting your own quicklime production plant.Unless you can get the limestone for free.
Simple caculation:1m3 AAC block production cost 130kg lime.
Whole year capacity 35,000 m3 cost 35,000x0.13=4550 Mt,please refer the quicklime and lime stone price in your local market and find out if my suggestion is available.
Q:3. Ball mill re-charging
a. What is the usual rate of recharge of lime and sand grinding ball mills?
A:Normally the filling ratio of the ball mill is between 30%-40%.For the ball load,we can calculate by the formulation:
Q=π/4D2.L.φ.γ
1.D stands for inner diameter of the ball mill
2.L stands for ball mill length
3.φ stands for ball filling ratio
4.γ stands for ball density
Q:4. Autoclave process
a. What is the fuel (coal) consumption rate of autoclave per 1M3 of AAC block.
A:We need 2 T automatic furnace for the autoclave and the consumption is 1.5 ton per day.
Q:5. Estimated Man power for proposed plant
a. Machine operators
b. Direct Labor
A:10 people/shift,20 workers for 2 shifts in total.
